Six Travel and Tourism students from Scarborough Sixth Form College have successfully achieved a place at the Aviation Academy in Leeds. The students all had to attend interviews at the academy which - along with their excellent BTEC results - has secured them onto a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aviation Operations. The course will prepare the students for a career in aviation operations in roles such as ground staff or cabin crew. With the academy’s strong links to major airlines such as Jet2 and British Airways, the girls have an excellent chance of an exciting career with plenty of travel. Student Laura Thomas said: “The course at sixth form helped me to work out what I wanted to do in the future and gave me the confidence to apply to the Aviation Academy.” Travel and Tourism teacher, Lindsey Taylor added: “We are really proud of the students. They have all worked exceptionally hard to achieve their career aims and are very excited about their next step.”
