A YOUNG male driver had to be cut out of his car after it came off the road and hit some bushes at Badger Bends on the A165.
The local man suffered head and neck injuries as a result of the accident which happened at about 9.45pm on Thursday.
The road between Muston and Filey was briefly closed as emergency services arrived at the scene.
Fire crews from two appliances, including one from Filey, stabilised the car and used special equipment to lift off the roof as it was feared the man had suffered spinal damage.
It later transpired the man’s injuries, although serious, were not life-threatening.
Filey watch manager Nick Bennett said the teenage driver appeared to have lost control of his vehicle on the notorious stretch of road, although the accident did not happen at one of its sharper bends.
