Man arrested in connection with collision at Crown Tavern roundabout in Scarborough

A man has been arrested in connection with a collision that occurred in Scarborough this morning.

Police have confirmed a two vehicle collision between a red Kia and a silver Mercedes was reported to them shortly before 8am.

It occurred at the roundabout near the Crown Tavern at the junction of Stepney Road, Falsgrave Road and Scalby Road and caused traffic delays whilst the road was closed to enable recovery.

Police say those involved received no injuries but a 79-year-old passenger of the Mercedes was treated for shock.

The 39-year-old driver of the Mercedes has been arrested in connection with the collision.
