Scarborough police are appealing for a driver and a vital witness to come forward following a minor collision in the town.
It occurred at around 5pm on Monday, August 13, at traffic lights, near Sainsburys, in Falsgrave Road.
A car which had overshot the lights, reversed knocking a 49-year-old local woman over and, when the lights turned green, the driver left the scene without checking the woman’s condition.
The only description of the car is that it was being driven by a woman with two children in the back.
At the time of the collision white van was following the car which collided with the victim.
As a result of the collision the victim was treated at Scarborough Hospital for minor injuries.
PC Tracey Brewster, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am appealing to the woman driving the car which collided with the pedestrian to come forward as she may be unaware that a collision took place.
“I am also keen to trace the driver of the white van as I believe that they will have vital information about the incident.”
Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is asked to contact Scarborough police on 101, press option two and ask for Tracey Brewster.
