PEOPLE in Scarborough are being invited to turn back the clock and travel back in time to another era this weekend when a vintage event is held at the Spa Complex.

One of the highlights is bound to be an eye catching display of vintage scooters and motorcycles which has been brought together by members of the Eastfield Scooter Club.

Club member Jeffrey Reeve said he was approached by event organisers and he was happy to help out. He said: “It was no problem – with all the scooterists in Scarborough.”

He added that he hoped to hold a charity collection for a couple of different causes including Help for Heroes.

Mr Reeve said that there had been a lot of interest in the event from other scooter enthusiasts. “I got some flyers down as far as Peterborough and Burton-upon-Trent. A lot of people are interested because of the vintage clothes.”

Organisers are hoping that there will be more than 40 stalls, selling a variety of items including vintage clothes, and they are hoping that next year’s event will be for the whole weekend.

Mr Reeve said: “At the moment we are supposed to have around 12 scooters and 12 motorcycles but I am hoping there will be more than that on display.”

The event opens at 10am.
