Update: Child ‘comfortable’ after collision

Police are continuing to investigate a collision near a Scarborough primary school.

It occurred at 3.10pm on Thursday at the junction of North Leas Avenue and Maple Drive.

The collision involved a blue Peugeot 207 and a 10-year-old boy, who was a pedestrian.

As a result of the incident the boy suffered a serious head injury and was taken by air ambulance to James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, where he remains in a comfortable condition.
