Thousands of people have lined the streets of Scarborough to pay tribute to our armed forces.
On Saturday morning the 1st and 4th Battalions of the Yorkshire Regiment made use of the Freedom of the Borough bestowed upon them to parade through with bayonets attached and drums beating.
Cheers and applause greeted them as the came through the town before being inspected by the Mayor of Scarborough, Cllr Pat Marsburg.
Col David Colthup thanked the town for its warm welcome.
“It is truly an honour to be in Scarborough today,” he told the appreciative crowd.
As he finished speaking a Lancaster Bomber, flanked on each side by two Spitfires roared over head on their pass of the South Bay before heading off over the castle headland to Whitby.
