HUTTON Buscel celebrates its 900th anniversary this weekend.
A talent contest for youngsters aged between seven and 13 takes place today at 3.15pm in the Centenary Marquee as part of the celebrations.
The festivities began last night, when best-selling local author, G.P. Taylor launched the weekend.
Tomorrow will feature a Songs of Praise in the parish church, attended by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, Lord Crathorne, when the Bishop of Whitby will preach and rededicate the bells.
All profits are going to three charities - Sightsavers, Candlelighters, and the parish church, St Matthew’s.
