FANS of vintage and retro clothing, books and collectibles are invited to a special event at Scarborough’s Sue Ryder charity shop in Falsgrave Road.

The shop is holding a Vintage and Retro Week until Saturday which will feature a wide selection of retro items which have been donated to the charity.

Manager Fran Elliott is hoping the event will bring in new and old customers to the shop, as well as boost funds for the charity.

She said: “It is hoped the Vintage and Retro week will attract customers with a special interest in these areas as well as providing a talking point for our regular customers.

“We have been saving these items for a while and hope their sale will provide extra funds for our very good cause.”

She added that Sue Ryder cares for people with end-of-life and long-term conditions such as cancer, stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, dementia, Huntingdon’s Disease, Parkinson’s and motor neurone disease.

The Vintage Retro Week will feature a special window display and the shop will be open from 9am to 5pm every day.

Mrs Elliott added: “We’re really looking forward to it. There’s definitely a market for it and it’s something a little bit different.”
