Yorkshire Carnegie claimed a superb 56-7 win in the British and Irish Cup Pool Three game against London Scottish at Scarborough RUFC on Sunday.

Carnegie blew away the Challenge of visitors London Scottish and moved to the top of the British & Irish Cup Pool 3 with an emphatic victory in their second visit to Silver Royd.

Former rugby league superstar Kevin Sinfield, playing at fly-half, kicked Carnegie to an early 3-0 lead and the Leeds-based outfit stretched their advantage with a try from flanker Chris Walker converted by Sinfield for 10-0.

The Exiles reduced the arrears with a converted try from a rolling maul but Sinfield added his second penalty and converted a further Walker try to see Carnegie lead 20-7 at the break.

Sinfield stretched the Carnegie lead to 23-7 with a penalty just after the break before Walker touched down for his hat-trick converted by Sinfield for 30-7.

Carnegie rammed home their superiority with tries from wing David Docherty, full-back Taylor Prell and two from substitute Josh Bainbridge in a scintillating fourth quarter to round off a hugely entertaining if one-sided game.
