The next stage of the Scarborough Water Park development has started with its operator applying for an entertainment licence.
Alpamare UK Ltd, part of a German entertainment giant, has submitted its application to regulate the hours it can have people in the venue.
Notices have now been placed around the site of the proposed park, at land to the rear of Burniston Road car park, inviting neighbours and the public to have their say on the hours it is requesting.
In its submission the operator is seeking:
l Provision of Regulated Entertainment (indoor and ourdoors) for films; indoors sporting events; live music; recorded music; and performance of dance from Monday to Sunday from 8am until 2am.
l Sale by Retail of Alcohol from Monday to Sunday from 8am until 2am.
l Provision of Late Night Refreshment from Monday to Sunday 11pm to 2am.
The closing dates for representations to be submitted to Scarborough Council is Friday September 12.
A number of objections have already been raised by residents in the area, with a petition circulating around local houses.
