We must maintain the levels to stay top

After Saturday it was nice to note that we were sitting at the top of the league.

Obviously that is where we would like to stay, but there will be a lot of ups and downs between now and the end of the season. At the moment though the lads have earned the right to be where they are.The teams around us have games in hand, but we have to play all of the top sides, so there is plenty of interesting football yet to be played. This starts at Glossop on Saturday, another side who are right up there in the table. We just have to concentrate on battling on and picking up the points.Things have come on a long way since I first watched the team just after Christmas at Brighouse.I always had confidence in my ability, as long as I was given the opportunity to show what I can do.We gave everyone a fair crack of the whip, but players have left us because they weren’t good enough, they had a poor attitude or because they thought they had the God-given right to win matches because they played for Scarborough. We have had to change the team and also alter the thought process at the club.Maybe a few more will fall off the log, but it has been about getting the right blend. There is a massive togetherness, a good dressing room and a great work ethic now. That needs to remain, they have to keep putting in 110% and that will help us to get to where we want to be.
