Staff at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court were tickled pink as they donned their glad rags for Wear it Pink day.

The dress-up fundraising event in aid of breast cancer research was organised by admin assistant Kirsty Metcalf.

Kirsty (pictured, front) said: “We raised £100 and I was really pleased. It’s more than we’ve raised at similar events in the past, because there’s a few more of us here now.

“Everyone enjoyed it so we’ll do it again in the future.”

Despite recent advances, breast cancer is still the most common cancer. Every year it claims the lives of 12,000 women, and 50,000 more are diagnosed.

Last year, £2.1 million was raised by Wear it Pink supporters and this money is already funding world-class research.
