Wedding report: Coates-Gluszak

The wedding took place in Jezowe, south-east Poland between Mr Timothy Paul Coates and Miss Magdalena Marzena Gluszak.

Timothy, who grew up in Burniston and attended Lindhead Primary School, is the only son of Dr David Coates and Mrs Diane Coates.

The family moved to Witney in Oxfordshire in 1992 and he later trained to be a teacher at Oxford Brookes University. Magda is the eldest daughter of Antoni and Maria Gluszak, of Jezowe.

Magda attended university in Krakow.

He met Magda when she was studying English as part of her degree and they both worked at a restaurant in Oxford.

The best man Mr Anthony Worthington was the head chef at the restaurant.

Magda now works for Oxfordshire County Council as a Social Worker, Tim teaches at a primary school in South Oxfordshire and they live in Wantage.

One of the bridesmaids was Charlotte Hodgson and the ring bearer was James Hodgson, both of Scarborough.There were two Polish bridesmaids who were nieces of the bride.

Forty-four people travelled from the UK to attend the traditional Polish wedding.

Accompanied by a band, the wedding party made their way to the Roman Catholic Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Guests enjoyed a reception at the Ostoya Manor Hotel which lasted 12 hours and included a banquet and several toasts with vodka.
