YOUNGSTERS across Scarborough are waiting to hear if they are Guinness World record breakers after taking part in a national challenge.

Children from a number of nurseries took part in a mass sing-song of “Heads, shoulders, knees and toes”.

The event, called the Chatterbox Challenge, was organised with children’s communication charity I Can.

Nurseries that took part included Seamer Preschool, Green Hedges and Eastfield Children’s Centre.

Carole Millard, of Eastfield Children’s Centre, said: “We had 11 children and 11 adults taking part and everyone really enjoyed it.

“The children had a practice beforehand and now we’ve all got our fingers crossed that we’ve broken the record! It was a lovely day so we held the challenge outside. Everyone loved it.”

Each nursery had to send off a statement to the Guinness Book of Records who will now calculate if it was the largest ever number of people signing the song at one time.
