Appeal: Square group’s wartime hunt

I wonder if your readers could help our group locate and research past residents of Trafalgar Square who had enlisted or were conscripted into the Armed Forces for the Great War?

We are particularly looking for residents who made the ultimate sacrifice and now are at rest overseas, such as Mr George Frederick Stabler, who was born in 1896. He died on September 17, 1916, at Flanders while serving with the 5th Battalion Alexandra Princess of Wales Own Regiment of Yorkshire. He is buried at Thiepval near Paris.

Any help in our endeavour would be greatly appreciated.
