Wednesday May 13 turned out to be one of the most joyful days of my life and I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone involved in organising the marvellous blue plaque for Max Jaffa at our old family home in Scalby.
In particular, I am indebted to Adrian Perry, chairman of the Scarborough and District Civic Society, to the inimitable Pat Marsburgh, mayor of Scarborough, and most of all to Alan Brown and Chris Mollander, the new owners of Argyll Lodge whose exceptional enthusiasm and hospitality ensured such a beautiful celebration.
It was extremely moving that so many people cared enough to join me and my daughters for the unveiling of the blue plaque in memory of our beloved Max. Truly it was a special occasion to be treasured for the rest of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Jean Jaffa
