SO the spa sea wall has six options. There is a seventh, ie, breakwaters at strategic positions out at sea parallel to the Spa wall. This option would protect the Spa against heavy seas which is the object of this exercise. Breakwaters are used to take out most of the destructive force of heavy seas.
Price would determine which construction to use. The more spent would give boats a safe mooring and maybe eventually one day a marina could be in the pipeline. A simple breakwater would be a far cheaper option than other ideas, some of which are ridiculous and would lead to a completely unnecessary eyesore costing millions and ruining another beautiful part of our heritage.
Breakwaters also make wonderful marine habitats and would be used by divers and anglers etc.
