RE: LETTER in the paper about the bridge on the east pier to the lighthouse pier being still closed.
A week after the Evening News reported that the work on the subsidence was finished I asked one of the Transcore men (I think that is the name of the company that the council used) when will the fence be removed. He told me that the area round there has to be X-rayed for any other voids before it can be removed. Now I’m no engineer but I think it would have made sense to X-ray it before the work started and fix all in one go. What happened to cause this collapse, and will filling it with hard core ensure that it will not happen again?
