Fracking: Don’t give a licence to drill

Scarborough Council and its residents should be wary of any proposed drilling activity, purported “for analysis purposes”, and refuse any suggestion of “fracking” licence in the future.

This flawed “fracking” method of shale gas extraction uses vast quantities of water and hydrochloric acid, leading to pollution, health issues, high risk of earthquakes and property devaluation.

We can only hope Scarborough council has the sense to prohibit any attempts at drilling even for analytical purposes for this will surely lead to “fracking” extraction should these results be positive.
