The family of Jack Rhodes, who died on Thursday September 26, would like to express their gratitude to Scarborough Hospital for the marvellous care and attention they gave to him during his recent stay on Anne Wright Ward.
The nursing staff were simply lovely - nothing was too much trouble for them, and the doctors were extremely helpful. We could not fault the care in any way.
Our dad wanted to spend his final days in his own home, and due to the dedicated efforts of his own doctors at Trafalgar Medical Practice and their liaison with the highly professional team at the hospital, we were able to care for him at home.
We would not have been able to manage this without the tremendous support we received from the district nurses, the Bluebird Nursing Agency, and especially Macmillan and Marie Curie nurses.
We were given whatever we needed - whether it was equipment, nursing assistance, advice and support, often on the same day - the co-ordination of all the agencies was outstanding.
At a time when Scarborough Hospital is often criticised, and NHS funds are scarce, we would like to express our thanks for the outstanding care and support from all involved, who helped us tremendously through a very difficult time.
