Here in Scarborough at least a decade of misrule is too much to condone ... in our own Town Hall, a culture of self-interest lies beneath a thinly-veiled contempt for everyone else.
It is regrettably generally acknowledged that Scarborough Borough Council has lost credibility, trust and respect – with disregard for the resident population.
On a personal level, up writing and appealing to councillors about genuine concerns, one is denied the common courtesy of a response.
Is this because arrogance overrules proper democratic dissent?
If so, then this must be why local people are suffering the effects of unpopular, undemocratic and damaging decisions which are thrust upon them.
As the county council election approaches, it is time to reflect on the excessively long-time that these self-proclaiming and, some, less than honourable Scarborough councillors, have failed to show empathy, or properly represent the public ... much to the detriment of its people.
