Only Scarborough Council/North Yorkshire County Council could do the following.
We have roads around the town that would disgrace even a third world country’s highways. There are potholes and other deficiencies that make driving around the town like being on the dodgem cars. From the traffic lights at the junction of Seamer Road and West Bank to the Honda garage, possibly one of the worst road surface conditions in Scarborough.
So what do they do? From the junction of North Leas Avenue and Highdale Road towards Givendale Road they decide to replace the pavement. A pavement that has very little footfall on it until you reach the pelican crossing opposite Maple Drive. They make the road one way under traffic light control, any number of lorries parked all over and the usual number of workmen with most watching others. Tuesday when I drove past they had ceased work, the road was open and everyone gone bar a few men and a lorry, at 2.30pm.
What happened to the eight hour day?
It is the potholes that need repairing first.
