I FEAR I have even worse news for the dozens of Evening News readers who are currently without BT landlines (Evening News, March 20).
When their lines are eventually reconnected (and by experience this could be weeks) they will be offered a paltry sum of money as compensation by BT. Along with 50 others in the Stepney area I was without a landline for 14 days. BT has awarded me £12 in full and final compensation - that’s 86p a day.
I now regret signing a new contract with that company only two days before my line went dead.
