Why use school as polling station?

RE: THE voting.

Friarage School was affected as it was one of the polling stations. Nearby polling stations to the school included the Town Hall and Queen Street Methodist Church.

Question: With two polling stations in close proximity to the school, why did the school have to be closed?

How much money was lost in child care that parents had to find or take a day off?

The school still spent money being open for the polls, but not the children’s education, despite the fact that they have had nearly a month wasted in holidays, back two days, then off again.

Castle ward had four polling stations that I know of. Were any other schools affected in the area?

I come from a village approximately the size of Castle ward and we only had one polling station.

Does every ward have four polling stations?
