WE ARE writing to express our heartfelt thanks for the generosity of the Scarborough Ambassadors in helping to fund a customised tricycle for our eldest son Ted.
Since we took delivery of the trike, during the school summer holidays, it has been a revelation, Ted has learnt to pedal all by himself.
This is truly amazing as we have been trying to help him learn this skill for a very long time! Your kindness has helped him to achieve this milestone and we are most grateful.
Being able to ride a trike is giving him a confidence which will hopefully afford him a small degree of independence – wonderful.
Ted has had an especially difficult 12 months, enduring several medical procedures, so to see the sheer enjoyment on his face when he’s out and about on his bike is priceless.
So, thank you very much for this award, you have made a young boy (and his family) very happy.

RE: THE Triumph Against Adversity scheme initiated by the Scarborough Ambassadors Business Group and the Evening News.
How lovely to see such a positive story in Monday’s paper regarding nine-year-old Ted Holmes.
As a mother of a little boy with cerebral palsy, I know the cost of specialist equipment and toys so I can just imagine the joy and fun that Ted’s new trike will bring him and his family, not to mention the effects it will have on his development. Wonderful! How great to also see money being spent on something which will make a real difference to a little boys life.
