Youth arrested following knife altercation

Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Scarborough where a man claims had a knife pulled on him.

At around 3pm on Saturday 4, a 15-year-old male youth got involved in an altercation with a member of shop staff, a 49-year-old man, outside the Futurist Buildings on Foreshore Road.

During the incident it is alleged that the youth produced a Stanley knife and made verbal threats towards the man.

The youth was arrested and has been released on police bail as enquiries into the incident continue.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them with information.
