CARING youngsters from Sherburn Youth Club braved the cold to raise £100 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Group members collected the cash by going carol singing over the Christmas period in sub zero temperatures.
On the night 13 children took part along with six parents and friends and four youth leaders.
Yvonne Slack, club secretary, said: “It was a very cold night but we stayed out for two hours, having got well wrapped up.
“It was about -5C and very icy but they sang their hearts out! The residents were well pleased - especially the more elderly members of the community.”
Mrs Slack added that she would like to congratulate the children on their achievement and thank the parents and residents for their support.
The children chose to support Yorkshire Air Ambulance this year, having supported St Catherine’s Hospice last year.
Sherburn Youth Club is open on Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm for youngsters 11 years old and over and on Fridays at 6pm to 8pm for five to ten year olds. Call (01944) 710728.
