YOUNGSTERS in Burniston are sitting pretty after the completion of a new youth shelter.

The shelter, in the grounds of Burniston and Cloughton Village Hall, has been given a huge makeover with new wooden walls and metal seats installed.

The facility was originally built thanks to funding efforts by The Van youth group and was maintained by Burniston and Cloughton Village Hall Committee.

However, after the shelter suffered damage, new funding was obtained from the Central Rural Area Committee and The North Yorkshire Reward Grant Fund.

Barbara Hill, who helped on the project to improve the site, said: “The village hall committee wish to thank Trevor Romans of RGT for generously carrying out the work and supporting their local community.

“We are grateful for their continued support.”
