Arthur Astin bagged three wickets for Scarborough & District under-11s in their defeat at home to Airedale & Wharfedale League at Flixton.
Astin, who plays his club cricket for Scarborough, finished with excellent figures of 3-31 from his six overs as the visitors were limited to 120-8 from their 30 overs.
Pickering’s James Boyes also hit form with a great spell of 2-18 from six overs, while Astin’s team-mate Harrison Wood bowled very economically to secure one wicket for the cost of only 10 runs in his six overs.
Wood’s fine form has earned him a call-up to the Yorkshire B under-11s side, along with his district - and club - team-mate Sebastian Grace, and Pickering’s Dan Ward.
The pick of the visiting batsman was Shivnarine Siralg, who hit 30no, while Luke Fairbanks also made 30.
In reply, Siralg also shone with the ball taking 2-8 as the home side were dismissed for 80.
The only batsmen to get going for the hosts were Harrison Male (Bridlington) and Scarborough’s George Stephenson, both of them scoring 10 runs.
In the Greenwood Hire Derwent Valley Junior League under-11s section, Pickering are top of Zone One after their 40-run home win against Seamer.
Will Rennard’s 24 helped the hosts to 279-3, and despite a plucky effort, Seamer fell short on 239-4.
Cayton climbed the league table thanks to a six-run win at Cloughton.
In Zone Two, leaders Wykeham won by 98 runs at home to Thornton Dale.
Aaron Fox top-scored for the hosts with 29 in an intimidating total of 294-3, Adam Eustace adding 14.
Fox then scooped 2-4 and Josh Bagsham 3-10 as Dale made it to 196-7.
