The area’s big-hitters will be aiming to catch the eye when 12 local clubs do battle at the 2015 Staxton Six-a-Side competition on Sunday.

Defending champions Heslerton will be aiming to stave off stiff competition from Group C rivals Cloughton and Sherburn in order to make the semi-finals later in the day.

Their main competition should come in the form of Flixton, who are in Group A alongside Seamer and Wykeham, Cayton, who will tackle Forge Valley and Brompton in Group B, and Ebberston, who will have to beat Ganton and Ebberston to make the last four.

The first game, between Wykeham and Flixton, gets under way at 10.15am, with group games running up until 5.10pm before the two semi-finals at 5.45pm and 6.30pm and the final at 7.10pm.

Trophies and prizes will be presented at 7.50pm in front of the clubhouse.

Prizes are being generously supplied by Fat Bats and Owzat Cricket.
