ROB Lakin starred with bat and ball as relegated Snainton’s charge to return to the Beckett League Division A at the first attempt gathered pace.
Snainton hammered rock-bottom Cayton 2nds to move top of the table on 38 points following a strong start to their season.
Snainton took first knock and quickly stamped their authority on the Cayton attack.
Jason Oakley notched 54 and and Dave Bell fell just short of his half-century when he was dismissed for 47.
Lakin came to the crease and smashed 85 to put together a stand of 110 with Bell and carry Snainton to 261.
Darren Jones was the main man with the ball for the home side, taking 4-60, while Danny Woodhead (3-51) and Steve Farnaby (3-66) also pitched in with wickets.
Lakin then turned his attentions to the ball, taking 5-34 as Cayton never made Snainton sweat as wickets tumbled at regular intervals.
Paul Kinghorn also got stuck into the Cayton batting line up as his 5-24 helped Snainton skittle out their hosts for just 58 to complete a miserable afternoon for Cayton.
