NICK Zakrzewski was the star of the show as Flixton almost booked a York League division one success against Bridlington.
The Flixton lads ended up on the wrong end of a draw, as they were just three runs short of Brid’s tally of 260-8 when the overs ran out.
Flixton still bagged 19 points, though it wasn’t enough to move them away from the bottom two of the table.
Ian Winterbottom struck a superb 152 to move Brid into the driving seat at Flixton.
The East Yorkshire club’s charge was slowed though by the efforts of Zakrzewski, who managed to pick up four wickets for 86 runs.
Andy Wardell hit 62 at the beginning of the Flixton innings and Zakrzewski showed his all-round ability with a knock of 41.
There were also scores in the 30s from Richard Malthouse and Rob Lacey as Flixton closed in on the target.
A spell of 5-93 from Casey Rudd made sure Brid held on.
