AN outstanding all-round effort from Andy Ryan helped Flixton 3rds pull away from the relegation zone with a 104-run win at home to Kirkbymoorside 2nds.

The all-rounder struck a superb unbeaten 104, and allied to an undefeated 49 from veteran John Sowden, helped his team post 214-3.

Ryan then took 3-40 as Kirkby, who are hopeful of claiming the second promotion slot behind runaway leaders Great Habton, slumped to 110 all out.

There was a dramatic finish to the game between hosts Seamer 3rds and Sewerby 4ths - the latter also pushing for promotion.

The home side claimed a shock win thanks to last-wicket pair Richard Lloyd and Kev Vasey, who sharing a winning stand of 40.

Sewerby posted 140-6, Rob Searby hitting an unbeaten 51 and Simon Porter 28 not out.

Jake Moore struck 30 for Seamer, Porter taking 3-28 and Calvin Roche 4-34 to set tp the thrilling finale.

Lockton 2nds seam bowler Keith Eddon took a magnificent 7-30 to help his side to a three-wicket win against Flamborough 2nds, in a game switched to Thornton Dale.

The hosts limped to 1-4-8 and must have feared the worst, but they fielded and bowled superbly - especially stalwart Eddon - as the visitors were pegged narrowly short of their target.

Leaders Great Habton eased to a seven-wicket win at Sewerby 3rds.

Sam Coultas’ 57, allied to 28 from Paul Dandy and 27 by George Bramham helped the hosts to 165 all out, Will Curtis taking 3-41.

In reply, the pacesetters never looked in trouble thanks to classy knocks from John Lumley, 78, and Mark Haines, 68.
