The Scarborough Beckett League’s top performers were rewarded for their efforts in the 2012 season at last night’s AGM at the Downe Arms.
The merit award winners for last season were handed out last night.
Nick Gibson, the Staxton captain walked away with the premier division’s batting award, he made 897 in the season.
The other winners in the premier division included Forge Valley all-rounder Dave Morris who received the bowling award with 34 wickets.
Chris Dove, also of Staxton, won the fielding award with 17 catches in the season. The final award in the premier division went to Sam Triffitt of Heslerton, who showed great skills to take 16 victims as wicket-keeper.
Kirkbymoorside dominated the division A awards.
The Moorsiders keeper Jodie Robson racked up 523 runs in the season, taking the batting award.
Kirkby’s Dan Jemison won the bowling award as he snapped up 48 wickets, and his team-mate Jordan Rivis snaffled the fielding award, as he took 13 catches.
Adam Ykhlef won the wicket-keeping award as he took 15 victims during the season while playing for Bridlington 2nd’s.
In Division B, Mario Spagnuolo walked away with the batting award as he reached 452 runs while playing for Fylingdales.
Mark Dove of Staxton 2nds took the bowling award home with him as he took 40 wickets for the second team.
Nine catches were enough to see Ryedale’s Dan Hardy take home the fielding award for the side.
Another Ryedale player, Rob Featherstone took 15 victims the league, meaning he was able to collect the wicket-keeping award.
In division ‘C’, Ganton’s Rob Gretton was able to take the batting award home with him as 377 runs were enough to see him claim the award.
Forty wickets were also enough to see Staithes 2nds bowler, Lee Oliver walk out with an award for the division C side.
Duncombe Park 2nds captain Will Smith took nine catches during the 2012 season and this was enough to see him win the fielding award.
Scalby 2nds 15-year-old wicket-keeper Joe Hills had 11 victims in the 2012 season, which meant he also took home the award for the division ‘C’ side.
