Scarborough Cricket Club continued their sluggish start to the Yorkshire League season when they lost by six wickets at home to Cleethorpes.
Andrew Simpson’s men struggled to get the runs on the board as they were bowled out for just 132 after 48 overs.
Theo Smoith (44) top-scored with the bat, though there were useful contributions at the end of the innings from youngsters Jonathan Read and Sam Carver, who hit 18 and 19 respectively.
Alex Osmond proved to be the star of the show for Cleethorpes as he took 4-32 from his 15 overs.
Osmond then struck a quick-fire 62 as Cleethorpes cruised to the victory.
Carl Joyce, Carver and Tom Precious all took a wicket each, but they couldn’t stop Cleethorpes charging over the winning line after just 33 overs.
