Lee Douglas was forced to make four changes to the side that beat high-flying Beverley last week and his plans were further hampered with the late withdrawals of Phil Watson and Rich Scales.

Things got even worse when the team bus was late arriving due to heavy traffic and went from bad to worse when the hosts went in front almost straight from the kick-off, although there was more than a hint of a knock-on in the build up.

Scarborough responded perfectly, winning the ball back from the restart they moved the ball from left to right and Joe Marshall galloped home to level the scores.

The visitors looked the brighter of the two side in the early stages but a Keighley penalty followed by a second try put the hosts 13-5 in front.

Just before the break the home side were reduced to 14 men for a cynical body check on Jordan Wakeham, but although camped under the Keighley posts, Scarborough couldn't take their chances.

The second half was one-way traffic as Scarborough struggled to get out of their own 22.

On the rare occasions they did get possession they gave it away far too easily.

They did have a spell of pressure late on but as in the first half they failed to take their chances.

Keighley sealed a deserved win with two further penalties to make the final score 19-5.
