DELIGHTED Edgehill boss Alec Coulson rated his sides’ title win and his first as manager of the club up there with the eight that he managed to win as a player for the club.
Coulson’s men edged their way to the title after drawing 2-2 in their ‘winner takes all’ title decider against West Pier on Saturday at Seamer.
And Coulson was quick to praise his squad, among others behind the scenes.
He said: “Delighted to finally get over the line. With the squad we’ve got we should really have wrapped it up a bit earlier, but credit has to go to West Pier, Newlands and Filey for taking it the distance.
“It was a bit nervy for the last 15 minutes on Saturday. We had our backs against the wall but we defended well and came through it.
“I have to say that the squad as a whole have been superb and thanks has to go to Vic Hollingsworth and Steve Clegg who have been great.
“I’ve got to thank my partner Donna as well. She washes the kit and puts up with my grief when we lose.
“Now we have to get focussed for our cup final against Eastfield on Wednesday.”
