Fylingdales Reserves 3 (Peel 2, Smith) Trafalgar Reserves 4 (Barker 4)
Hot-shot Mikey Barker scored four goals for Trafalgar Reserves, but the title-holders ended up hanging on for a win after Fylingdales Reserves struck three goals in the closing 12 minutes.
Fine approach play and a clever pass from Neil Thomas set Barker up for his first goal, and that is how the score remained until half-time.
For his second, Guy Newbold threaded a pass through from the halfway line after a Traf corner had been cleared, Barker latching onto the pass to double Traf’s lead.
Barker completed his hat-trick when he beat the home keeper to a long pass, and his fourth was notched after more fine play in the Traf midfield.
The home team refused to submit and their efforts bore fruit in the latter stages of the game, Lewis Peel netting twice and Dave Smith also registering as the Traf defence were forced to work hard to maintain their lead and continue their 100 per cent start to the season.
Barker was the man of the match for the visitors, while Tom Dosser was star man for Fylingdales.
Alma 0 Ayton 1 (D Pickard)
A new-look Ayton side were forced to wait until the 88th minute for their domination of this game at Alma to result in a goal.
Dan Pickard volleyed in the winner after a clever pass by 18-year-old debutant Louis Messruther to finally break the stubborn home defence.
Ayton had numerous chances throughout the match, the best arising in the 70th minute when Pickard’s shot appeared to be two yards over the line but it was ruled out by the referee.
Ayton boss Mark Plumpton said: “I had nine new players in the squad of 14 named tonight.
“Dan Pickard was the man of the match, but Louis Messruther, in his first-ever senior match also had a great game.”
