SCARBOROUGH Athletic striker Ryan Blott has called for the Boro boo boys to get behind the team rather than on their backs.
Paul Olsson’s men left the field after Tuesday night’s defeat at Selby to a chorus of jeers from the travelling fans, much to the disappointment of Blott.
The frontman is aware that things haven’t been going according to plan for the NCEL Premier side, but he is confident that things will be turned around.
He said: “We need the fans to back us rather than getting on our backs.
“We are lacking a bit of confidence as a team at the moment, so being booed and jeered by the crowd just doesn’t help.
“The fans have to realise that we are going out there to win matches, but for one reason or another things aren’t working out at present.
“In the dressing room at the end of games there is so much frustration at the moment, but I’m sure that as soon as we pick up one result, we’ll be back on track again.
“I am getting frustrated on the pitch and so are the rest of the lads, we just want things to go right.
“It has been a disrupted season, with the Brian France situation, the weather break and the injuries we have had, but I know that we will get going again.
“Everyone wants to stay here, everyone is backing each other, we just need that win under our belts and that will be that.”
