Focus will be the key word for Scarborough Athletic striker Ryan Blott over the final few weeks of the NCEL Premier season.
Not only is Blott aiming to propel towards the title, but he is also eyeing a couple of personal milestones.
Blott is currently 14 goals away from his 200th strike for the club, though he is sceptical about achieving that feat in the next seven league games.
One realistic landmark will be the scooping of the league top-scorers honour, as he currently leads the way by five goals.
He said: “We are on a fantastic run at the moment. I was expecting Brighouse to drop away, but they are still in there.
“Bridlington have dropped a few points recently, but they are always dangerous.
“If we win all of our games then we win the league, but there are some tough matches ahead of us.
“You have to look at the games against Brid and Brighouse, they will both be massive.
“We also have to play teams like Tadcaster in Saturday’s game, which is another one that won’t be easy.
“There don’t seem to be that many nerves in our changing room at the moment because we have some experienced lads in there.
“We are a tight-knit bunch of players, who all play for each other.
“We also have a great managerial team in Rudy Funk, Darren France and Denny Ingram.”
Blott added: “I’m enjoying my football at the moment and I’m scoring goals, which is always good for a striker.
“Somebody told me that I need 14 to take me to 200 goals. They also asked if i would do it this season.
“I don’t think that will be happening, but I’m still looking at being the top goalscorer in the league.
“I should have had at least one against Pickering, but I decided to shin it out of play after rounding the keeper.”
