SCARBOROUGH Athletic’s top-scorer Ryan Blott will be the only absentee when Paul Olsson’s men take the trip to Hall Road Rangers tomorrow.
The absence of the NCEL Premier’s 24-goal top-scorer is a blow to Boro boss Olsson, but it does open the door for Richard Medcalf to slot in alongside Bill Law in attack.
Olsson has been boosted by the recent goal-charge, which has seen Blott’s team-mates begin to chip in with a good number of goals.
Boro have hit 16 goals in three games, with the goals coming from all over the pitch.
One surprise has been the predatory instinct of centre-half Chris Jenkinson, who has bagged three in three.
Olsson said: “The fact that Ryan is missing is a blow because he is our top-scorer and the league’s top-scorer.
“It does give somebody else the opportunity to come into the side though and if they take it then who knows.
“The good thing is that we have been scoring goals from all over in recent weeks.
“I did speak to our centre-backs Chris Jenkinson and Mike Gibson about the fact that we need to bag a few more from set-pieces, and they have started to chip in as well.”
Olsson is also looking forward to meeting up with a number of familiar faces tomorrow.
The Boro boss and a number of his players hail from the Hull area, so they know most of the Rangers line-up very well.
He added: “They obviously know us and we know them, so there will give the game some edge. If we win the battle on the day then I’m confident that our quality will shine through.”
