Today is decision time for Scarborough Athletic’s all-time record goalscorer Ryan Blott.
The former Scarborough FC frontman must choose between making a switch to NCEL Premier outfit Tadcaster Albion or maintaining his status as one of Boro’s most talismanic figures.
Tadcaster put seven days notice in for Blott a week ago leaving his pondering his options.
Since joining Boro in 2007, the striker has scored 205 times in just 276 starts, that includes four so far this season.
He said: “Obviously I love playing for Scarborough Athletic and it would be very hard for me to leave.
“The fans and the lads are great, having scored that many goals and played that many games for a club you have to have a soft spot for it.
“Everything has its own shelf-life though, so I’m going to have a chat to Tadcaster to see what they have to say.
“Like Boro, they are a club with big ambitions, so it would be unfair to their club and myself if I didn’t talk to them.”
Tadcaster Albion have a huge number of links with players local to Scarborough and former Boro men.
The most famous will be ex-Manchester United, Fulham and Scholes Park Raiders man Jonathan Greening, who joined them this season to team up with brother Josh.
Former Scarborough FC and Boro man Denny Ingram teams up with ex-Athletic pairing Paddy Miller and Andy Milne in their defence.
They have also recently signed Tom Claisse and David Brown, who also used to turn out for Boro.
