Scarborough Athletic interim manager Matty Bloor has launched a rallying cry to supporters ahead of Saturday’s New Year home battle with league leaders Northwich.

Bloor and coach Chris Bolder have taken the reins at the Evo-Stik North club after the departure of Paul Foot and Bryan Hughes just before Christmas.

They were treated to a hefty turnout of away followers for their first game at Brighouse, and the pair are hoping for a hefty home backing when Northwich visit.

Bloor said: “There is nobody to fear in this league, everybody is beatable, especially with the squad of players we have.

“The fans can be a massive help to us as well.

“I didn’t know what to expect at Brighouse, but there was a great turnout and they all got behind us from the start.

“The supporters have come in for some stick over the past few weeks, that is up to the individuals though.

“I think they should be seen as a huge positive rather than a negative.

“The game at Brighouse showed that they want to be a part of this journey.

“We are fifth from bottom of the table, so we need them with us 100%.

“It does help you when you get their backing on that pitch, it gives you a little bit more of an edge.

“They can be our 12th man, they have shown us that before and it would be great if they could do the same when we play Northwich.”
