Scarborough Athletic boss Darren Kelly is expecting big things from his latest signing Will Thornton.

Promising centre-back Thornton has joined Boro from National League North outfit Guiseley AFC and boss Kelly is delighted to have been able to bring him in.

"I'm thrilled with the signing of Will, he is a player I have admired for a very long time and who I know will improve our squad both on and off the field," he said.

"He is a great leader for a young player and I think he will form a great partnership with the likes of Harry Coates, Bailey Gooda and Dylan Cogill.

"If Will continues to develop and improve I fully expect him to go on and play in the Football League, clearly I am hugely ambitious of progressing Scarborough Athletic up a level or two, but I don't actually think we will have Will with us for long if he continues to develop."
