Boro holding a trials session

Scarborough Athletic joint-bosses Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot will be casting their eyes over a trials day later this summer.

Hughes believes that the session, which will be held at the University of Hull Scarborough Campus on Saturday July 4, will be an integral part of the club’s pre-season schedule.

He said: “Me and Paul will be casting our eye over the session, which is something that will be great for the club.

“As well as having the session, we will also be having a first-team training session up there on the same day.

“We are trying to get back into the community, as well as digging out that diamond that we might have missed.

“Be it a player released from a Football League club, someone from the non-league circles or some of the local talent.”

Foot added: “We would welcome applications from local players looking to make that step up to represent their town. The club is keen to be at the heart of the community ahead of the move back to Weaponness and getting local players involved is a key part of this.”
