Scarborough Athletic returned to pre-season training at Hull University on Tuesday night.
After a testing early session the management team of Rudy Funk, Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot seemed upbeat.
Among the new faces on the night were former Hull attacker Danny Chambers, Zeph Thomas, Steve Burton, Jarrod Smalley, Tom Burgin, Paul Robson and the returning Jimmy Ghaichem.
Foot said: “There was a good attitude at training and we were really pleased with how the first session went.
“The new lads looked bright and you could tell that everyone was buzzing.
“My target is to win. I’ve had that as a player and I want to carry that on as an assistant-manager.
“If they buy into what we are doing then we will be successful as a team.”
Funk underlined this by saying: “Although we are playing in non-league we are trying to bring a good side back to Scarborough.
“We don’t want non-league attitudes. If they want to be part of it that’s fine, if not there are other clubs that can have them.
“Paul Foot and Bryan Hughes have worked so hard to put things in place and I can’t thank them enough.”
Hughes was the mastermind of the session on the night.
He added: “There are no winners at this stage of pre-season.
“We have games coming thick and fast and you can’t buy that game-time.
“You can only do so much time on the fitness ground, I think games are the key and that is why we have so many.”
