Scarborough Athletic will ring the changes for their Doodson Sport Trophy tie with Farsley according to joint-manager Bryan Hughes.
A number of injuries at the back will see Steve Ridley (rib) and new signing Steve Gardner miss out on tonight’s match.
Gardner went off after just 10 minutes on Saturday and Hughes said: “We could be looking at weeks, months, we will get him assessed by the physio before tonight’s game to see the extent of the injury.”
A host of under-19 players will make an appearance for Athletic tonight and Hughes feels it is key to give the younger players much needed experience.
He added: “We’re short due to the injuries so we’re going to bring in some of the younger lads, give them a game and get them some valuable experience.”
Ex-Birmingham man Hughes doesn’t feel as though the cup is any less important than the league, admitting: “We go into every game with an open mind. The fixtures are coming thick and fast, we might have one eye on Saturday but we want to get our first win under our belts tonight and kick on from there.
“Every game is winnable and we really want kick on for the fans who have shown up week-in week-out to support the team. Hopefully they’ll continue to turn up every week and we can provide them with the results they desire.”
Tickets for tonight’s game are at the reduced prices of £5 for adults, £3 for concessions and children under-11 go free.
