Scarborough Athletic have confirmed the signing of North Ferriby United defender Dean Lisles.
Joint boss Paul Foot, a former North Ferriby man himself, has been in regular contact with his former club over the deal for some time as he and his partner in the dugout, Bryan Hughes, look to strengthen their squad.
Foot said: “We knew when we came in we had to address the amount of silly goals we are conceding and Dean could be very helpful in doing that.”
Athletic have been struggling with injuries at the back of late and Jimmy Beadle had to play in the centre-back role on Tuesday night against Farsley AFC due to the large number of players out of action.
Foot added: “We were left so short with the recent injuries to Ridley and myself among others that Jimmy had to play at the back. We weren’t testing the waters, we were really just that short due to injuries.
“We have to strengthen up and with all the players out injured we really needed to bring someone in and luckily North Ferriby helped us out.”
Boro’s joint-manager is in regular contact with his former club with regards to players and a host of former North Ferriby players are already at the club.
He added: “He’ll settle in quickly and he’ll get more game time than he was getting before. He’s cancelled his old contract to play for us so we already know he’s committed to helping us in what we are trying to achieve at the club.”
Lisles began his career at York City and the 22-year-old is said to be raring to go for his new club.
