Scarborough Athletic Under-19s beat previously unbeaten Pocklington Town on Tuesday night to go joint top of the Northern Under-19s Alliance Football League.

Boro won the game 2-1 with goals from Liam Mancrief and Regan Hewitt.

Scarborough struggled for a side with players unavailable for various reasons and took only one substitute and three 16-year-olds who made their full debuts in striker Jack White, Keir Smith and George Hirst.

Coach Luke Tinker said: “All 12 players were brilliant, they worked for each other on and off the ball and dug in to see the game out in the last 20 minute.

“Myself and Steve Roberts are delighted for the boys they worked their socks off and fully deserve the victory.”
